This is my first time posting about email on the site. I have a bit of an issue and was hoping you guys could help.
Anyone know how to change the intervals that outlook syncs with gmail folders? One of my colleagues has a ton of stuff in his outlook and since it syncs so often with gmail, it slows him down tremendously and makes it frustrating to send email.
i remember one time i was going through their troubleshoot wizard to find out why i couldnt connect to the internet and they told me "make sure theres no microwave near your router". wtf

hahaha, theres actually a button for dial-up connection. i love microsoft.
bronto i think you're looking at this problem the wrong way.
instead of seeing it as an issue that needs to be fixed, look at it as an opportunity to convince your friend that now is the time to stop using a bad piece of software like outlook and get used to the modern way of doing things. they will then later in the century think "man, if not for dan i'd still be using outlook 2011 for mac"

Yeah I would need to borrow his computer to figure it out. I kinda got stuck in this IT role with my company even though I have no idea what I'm doing
Most likely he can set up manual syncs. Why not just google it

Yeah dude outlook blows. Who needs clunky software when you can use internet mail??

Thanks arcbell I appreciate it. Yeah my colleague is in his thirties and is clinging to outlook because he likes the interface more, even though we use a gmail server for work. Ultimately he ends up with sluggish email that is a pain to fix because there is zero info on outlook 2011 for mac
if anything i gained respect for you from the fact that you felt the need to clarify that it was for a friend so that people did not think you yourself used outlook.
yea i was gonna say "don't use outlook 2011 for mac, just use gmail" but you said serious question so i felt like that'd be a dink move. however, with this recent post i now feel like i can make the post i want to make and still stay out of dink territory
