> Otherkin are people who identify as partially or entirely non-human. Some say that they are, in spirit if not in body, not human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community as possible through reincarnation, having a nonhuman soul, ancestry, or symbolic metaphor.
"Fictionkin" and all other "kins" and "headmates" are included in this discussion.

are you kidding me? i'm triggered thinking of our world accepting this as normal. i'm tolerant of everything as long as it doesn't bother me or come near me, but here's where i draw a line:
when you tell me. riddler listen to me. when you ****** tell me. that you are a frickin cat. listen srsly. when you tell me that you are a ****** CAT and in your past life you were a demisexual animal, i will actually lose my mind

more of a live-and-let-live kinda girl myself though, since my own identity would of been called completely ridiculous not so long ago.
I feel like I would be a discriminatory person if I voted no in the poll, but no, I don't think that's a healthy life decision, but it's a decision that people can make, I won't stop them.
it's not a decision
they're animals trapped in human bodies. they were born that way you ableist sexist racist jerk
the alternative pronouns have never made any sense at all to me. i mean the whole thing is kind of out there but the pronouns just seem like such a joke. like, are they claiming their gender is also cat? because we use normal male/female pronouns for pretty much all animals that have the standard two sexes as far as i'm aware.
assigning genders to animals is transmysoginistic and patriarchal. all animals are "it"

It's winter and you feel reckless. You step into the ocean and you laugh as the cold seeps feeling from your feet. He calls you wild and you bare your teeth.
I've never seen an otherkin that believes they have a problem

The "real" otherkin that genuinely feel this way are usually more logical in knowing they have a problem and seeking help, though I don't believe their mental state is entirely healthy.
The "pretend" otherkin are not sane either because they feel the need to use a mental illness (bragging about being suicidal, etc) to get attention.
Real otherkin are more likely to become healthier individuals with knowing they have a problem, because "pretend" otherkin have deep-seated attention issues.
