it is about leading yourself, not letting others lead.
to lead a game you need to have leadership qualities.

try and get the hammer in a game when im not clear and you are clear. you wont get it. because i will make sure my will is done. because i dont let others decide for me. i decide myself. i only let others decide when i know they will do the same thing i want them to do.
I don't know why Zhuorb downvoted that, because it's tragically true. If Pranay left this site it would immediately become a little better simply because he propagates the "self-for-clear" meta so strongly.
It requires you to think your lynch through, and stops trolls from stalling games for an unnecessarily long time

i think that creates more problems than it solves in real-time games because it effective requires you to be doing absolutely nothing else while you're playing mafia and that's just unreasonable
i just don't agree with how zovea spent the majority of the game insulting people, it ruins the game for most people. i mean, i've done the same thing in the past but at some point you have to realize that we're all people and its really not worth getting so worked up about. idk its weird
i prefer to circlejerk in unranked, but u do u. zovea's just an all around unpleasant forum presence and my heart would remain intact if he were to leave.
Actually, the dream would be to have a forum-mafia-like hammer option, when once the majority is reached on any person, he's lynched. That'll make people think about their votes

like, the part zovea doesn't get is that it's not okay to force everyone to play mafia the "right" way, when "right" in this case = the way that zovea enjoys the most

Zovea's an as*shole, but this attitude is just as bad.
Most points he makes about the state of the game on this site are right. Mafia was objectively more fun to play here a few years back, and the quality has significantly degraded. It used to be that you had to convince half the town to believe you were town to save yourself from being lynched. Now, you have to convince one person of that.
Where once a game like TEO had 9 people arguing for half an hour before making a unanimous decision, we now have Pranay(or another clear), shouting for half an hour before everyone self votes and that clear makes the decision for us.
How is anyone OK with that? Are you incapable of making a decision? Are you that afraid of your own judgement? That insecure in your own intellectual and deductive capacity?
Because if you are, maybe you should consider self-deleting, since this site will only strand you in that hole of self doubt.
You like someone that sits back and chats idlely while people win the game for him through sheer incompetence? I bet you moderated with this same mindset.
