De-Comp this stupid setup and blacklist it from future competition. If someone playing B2NS, Andrea or TEO has their trophy robbed by someone playing YYC then that's just absurd. The fact that YYC already has 27 plays, whilst the others are getting nowhere near as many plays, goes to show what sort of state the website is in right now, at least regarding competitive mafia.
Priest would be fine if it was only the "finding out what roles visit him".
The "turning mafia to traitors" part makes it horribly OP.
Yeah, that's why I mentioned the D1 start suggestion. It would be too townsided if maf visited him on N1.
It wouldn't be in towns interest for Priest to claim even in Day Start.

Why don't you actually try making the setups then
I'm more of a complainer / Judge
you know the show Shark Tank? I'm the black guy who tells you if your idea is good and if I want to invest in it. I don't actually make up my own ideas kid.

I think invisible man setups could work with no doctor, maybe a watcher as the second pr & a stalker, nilla, ninja mafia duo.
I think ninja doesn't appear on watcher reports
Tbh I'd have to read his role again. I think he's a bit too overpowered as a role for competitive play.

I just read the role description of invisible man, that could be a good role.
Is the chef in the night meeting with the two people?
Priest is meh
I think if you were to incorporate priest, it'd have to be a D1 start where the priest claims. It would be far too tricky to make his use viable actually. The chef is cool though, he's basically an upgraded version of the cop, but he acts later.

Roles better than fiddler:
Invisible Man Samurai Priest Chef
I've never played with any of these roles and have no idea what they do but I know for sure they're better than fiddler
I'd actually like to see someone incorporate Priest and Chef to competitive play in a balanced environment.

jan 2.0's not a bad setup tbh. it takes energy tho

Off the top of my head, such a shortlist would include:
BV B2NS VDLI Jan 2.0 SDS (with and without ML) 163 Sex and Lies O2R Cry 'n Spy LOBL lolnoobtraitor Basic Logic Missing in Action Doubt Each Other Feels Good Man
Probably a few others I've forgotten. Either way, there's enough there to rotate rounds. Particularly if, as I was planning back then, you divide them into 'Tier 1' and 'Tier 2', where the few dominating setups at the top of that list are put in Tier 1 and only one is allowed to be comped, and only every four-five rounds (whereas the others have the same 2 round limit as normal).

How about this, we allow the fiddler setup to be comped. However if 50% or more of your games were played in the fiddler setup you're auto eliminated from the comp
Who complains about Jan being a bad setup? It's literally one of the best competitive setups on this website.
I forget specific names but I usually see complainers in the forums everytime it is comped

I'd still rather endure some competitive fiddling every 5 rounds over majorly limiting whatever setup you want to comp.

Having bad setups comped means that there is too much variance in skillset and point distribution. How are you missing this?
Back 2 Night School - Very difficult setup as town, 6 players roll town, 2 players roll mafia. The mafia have the advantage, meaning that in most cases 2 people will be the only ones gaining any points from their hearts. YYC requires such a small skill set, yet more often than not town will win without having to contribute very much.
Furthermore, the decisions made on Back 2 Night School are usually made collectively, rather than having an outed PR deciding for you as to whether or not you'll be winning or losing.
To keep bad setups on the roster, it just means that you'll have terrible players working their way up the ladder far more regularly, as they got lucky in their match-ups.
GOD FORBID WE SHOULD LET A FUN SET UP BE COMPED SO THAT MORE PEOPLE THAN JUST NORMAL COMP PLAYERS GET INTERESTED IN PLAYING COMP! OMG!!!!!!! FIDDLER AND GUNS AND FRAMER AND PARA ARE SOO BAD! I"M GONNA COMPLAIN SOME MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. but seriously, I don't get whats so bad about YYC. ya it's kinda a coinflip interms of who wins, but shouldn't you be able to have a little fun in comp rounds instead of playing the same 4 scumhunting setups OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER? cuz that is pretty much what happens. the older, "purist" players say all setups suck except B2NS, VDLI, Basic Variant etc etc..... And I agree those are good set ups, but sometimes scumhunting setups over and over and over again in comp is repetitive and gets boring. adding set ups like YYC or Jan 2.0 or HI etc keeps things fresh and fun IMO. :)
the point is that this sort of thing can be fun in red hearts, but competitive play should actually stick to setups that are, you know, competitive
ya but certain players are way better at scumhunting setups and some are way better at mechanics based setups. Take pranay for example. he sucks at scumhunt setups but normally does very well on mechanics based setups. Why does comp need to be for one type of play style?

In all honesty, I'd rather have a few bad setups allowed to be comped every so often over playing the same 3 setups every round.
this is fair enough. fiddler is still the most ridiculous role there is tho

It would be a major turnoff for me and probably a bunch of other people if there was a fixed list of setups. Honestly, there probably are not going to be a lot of setups on the list, and that sucks. It would maybe even drive some players, myself included, away from the site a lot quicker than it would normally. It gets boring.
