your'e right but current meta from what i've experienced doesn't focus on night length at all. maybe like 5% of the time in those situations.
also suspect wouldn't make a huge difference over miller other than removing that aspect in the scumhunting and in terms of setup balance as a note on my previous point

it's a neat touch in vdli solely because of the possibilities a stalked miller gives scum but that's one of the rare rare cases

it's dumb in 2 mafia setups because it creates this whole metagame centered around how long the nights were and wildly overthinking autowin situations. i mean, i get why it exists, i just don't think it's fun or compelling in any way
the "was he/she mafia?" aspect is what makes the two roles different, and i personally like this in setups although it isn't needed in all of them, but it's meant to make a setup more scumsided usually
