over 9 years

this thread may or may not already exist but i wanna have a film discussion

in your opinion, what's the most touching movie scene you've come across?? i was listening to the american beauty soundtrack because i'm using parts of it in a short film and it made me want to talk about emotive moments in cinema

OH MAN I FORGOT ABOUT THIS

honestly this scene made this entire movie for me, it transitioned from being hilariously adlibbed to incredibly dark in no time at all

How about some scenes from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

My favorite part of Eternal Sunshine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okV2XFKeT-0Y

Gets me every single time. I've recited that part of the poem so often to myself. Gah.

Her was really a one-of-a-kind movie. I'd have trouble picking a single scene though.

the beach scene from Her for me. I really love that movie and the scene is just really warm, and the soundtrack compliments it perfectly. It's not sad or anything but it makes me feel

i loved her so much and i thought the casting was incredible. i didn't even recognize that the protagonist was joaquin phoenix until about halfway through and usually i find scarlett johansson really awkward but i thought her voice was perfect

yeah. the movie proved that Scarlett Johansson can act for me, and both her and Joaquin Phoenix both seemed like they gave it their all

If we're doing TV, then the entire episode of "Mixology Certification" is beautifully poignant. It made you think that it was gonna be a hysterical drinking episode and turned into a sad drunken mess that revealed so many character flaws and didn't even try to redeem them. This moment at the end of the episode fits in so well because it's a moment of actual sweetness after seeing so much bitterness exchanged through the "circle of friends".

Also Rondar, nope =( You must be confusing me with someone else!

Anyway, the final scene in Black Swan was pretty amazing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVO6VGqfWwQ).

My two favorites were already said by Steve and Apostasy. The Children of Men scene (you were the one who'd originally recommended the movie too) and the Reservoir Dog ending (welp).

And there was an Inception scene posted. A far more "poignant" one is the scene where Mod actually commits suicide.

Huh? I remember asking you recently if you'd seen it and you said no. Weird.

Also you hadn't told me that you'd finally seen it. How'd you like the whole thing?

I actually saw it when I was like 12, haha :) It was a really difficult movie for me to watch but I enjoyed it a lot. The performances are absolutely astounding.

I'm disappointed in myself for not remembering more scenes at the moment so for now i'll go with the final scene from inception https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibX4WbnFdHo (spoilers). The music is beautiful and it's i think the perfect ending for the movie

edit: I second the dark knight clip thats a great choice
