These kids have been yakking and killing the same guy to unrank the game D1 which is obviously against the rules otherwise everyone would do it every game and there'd never be a game going on in that setup.
I think it should be considered gamethrowing rather than trolling because by yak-killing they are putting themselves into autoloss which is playing against their win condition.

Unfamiliarity with the rules, and a general leniency that's significantly more popular with the people you're here to serve.
Sometimes you need to compromise. I don't think you can argue it's in the sites best interest to ban all those people (excluding Petermh, who I thought would've been banned, again, after the crap he pulled at the end of last round. Apparently not.)

to be fair, the only people DYKing are rednose, seanmanx, and petermh. so there's no big loss there.
Giving out GT vios for people who GT is dumb, makes sense.

Rondar was there when DLYV was banned due to doc-joints, and when DYK'ing had been banned. Projectmatt, too.
Clearly, giving out 5 GT vios each for the games in the OP is dumb. So compromise. Give everyone in the OP one single GT violation, and from now on, moderate it as GT as per normal.
I know, I don't think it needs its own rule. DYK is no different than any other action that gets ruled as GT, only not everyone knows this because DYK comes up pretty infrequently and unranks the game rather than resulting in a loss.
doc joints don't happen any more btw, lucid fixed that.
I don't think many of the current mods were mods the last time a yak setup was comped, and it comes up so infrequently it's an easy thing for them to forget about / not bring up.
DYK isn't anything new, it's always been around back in the days with setups like DLYV and DLYG. I don't see why now it should be treated any different. Hand the friggin vios out

Given the announcement box is full of 4 month old happy holiday wishes, I'm sure DYK is an improvement on the current state of "cba to ever delete something and keep it small"

no i know what you meant, but DYK doesn't need its own rule. DYK is easily and logically GT and anyone doing it has no misconceptions about what it entails.
There's an announcements box for a reason, after all.

Quite easy to republicise it. There's a reason GAI isn't banned despite its overall crapness and the fact it invariably leads to a 200% rise in meteor reports. When GAI was comped we put up an announcement explaining that mafia forcing meteor when it was bomb/oracle/blue cc/mafia left was not GT'ing, and that town forcing mafia to kill in that situation were instead the ones in the wrong.
Pretty simple to do the same with DYK.
Yakuza/Doc combinations were banned. Other Yak setups are fine.
if someone didn't know about a rule it's their own fault. DKY is really straight forward and obviously a violation. if someone's too stupid to see that then it's their own fault and they should be banned from playing ranked for being so incredibly stupid.

well i mean, DYK is textbook GT, there's really no room for arguing that.
I'm speaking generally, especially when people don't know about the rule or see it as a GT. It's a heavy duty vio to give out. I'd rather stop enabling people who throw this way rather than ban them. It's proactive vs. reactive.
