I lost my mom to lung cancer in June of 2012. I became a Social Media Ambassador for LUNGevity to help raise awareness and funding for research. Below, you can find a link to an application to become a Social Media Ambassador, as well. LUNGevity is currently searching for more people to help bring awareness to this awful disease.

One in 14 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer in their lifetimes. It is also the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, with over 1.8 million new cases each year. Lung cancer can affect anyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or smoking history.

**With all of that being said, this doesn't have to be a place JUST for Lung Cancer awareness. If anyone would like to post their stories of how they have been touched by a disease, let's welcome it here. If anyone else supports different causes and would like to link to those, this is a great place to do so! And, if anyone is going through difficult times because of something like this and would like someone to talk to, please feel free to post here or message me directly! I know that it can help a ton to just be able to vent to someone. <3

The Solomon earthquake in 2013? Yeah, it just happened from all the negative things people around the world wanted to happen to the inhabitants.

Yeah, except for sane people who believe in rationality and logic.

Pardon me, but please remove your ignorance from this tread. Holding someone in your thoughts is not a bad thing, nor is it irrational. Scientists recognize energies with both positive and negative connotations, and have observed worldwide changes based solely on the power of thought. That is a fact, and it is irrefutable.

This is incredibly touching. Thank you for reaching out to this community, even in a mess of adolescent and immature gamers, this is a message that can be understood. I am so sorry about your loss, I cannot even imagine what you had to go through. My heart goes out to you, and (despite not being a religious person), my prayers. Nobody can discredit the power of positive thinking.

Awww Jade, I am so sorry :( That's so very sad. Multiple people in my family have died of lung cancer and my grandma currently struggles with lung issues. You're doing your mom proud by working on raising awareness for lung cancer. It's horrifying, like every cancer. Kudos to you, Jade, thank you! ♥

Thanks Melody! Praying for your grandma! <3

My grandfather is a lung cancer survivor. He had 1.5 lungs now. They said he should have died in surgery.

My heart goes out to anyone who has to deal with any form of cancer.

i lost my grandfather to lung cancer though he smoked a lot and there wasn't much information back in the days on how unhealthy smoking was for the human body. nevertheless, people should be aware of these diseases. it doesn't hurt to learn about some of these symptoms beforehand. you never know when some of these diseases might come to haunt you or someone you know one day. its better to catch these diseases early than letting it drag on and on. help raise awareness and make sure to also stay as healthy as you can!
