Epicmafia AI

over 10 years

Hypothetically if I were to code an AI to play epicmafia on my account. Would that be allowed or against the rules? Also would the AI have to tell people in it's games that it is an AI?

Allow sophisticated AIs to play Epicmafia?

This already exists and has long since been implemented.

It is called "pranay"

Did you guys program it to cheat or did it just develop that behavior naturally?

Yes.

Because there's already been fantastic success w/r/t cyborgs with no emotions. Just look at Prevail!

How is this even a discussion. Simply will not work

Acumen says

I am just looking for opinions to see whether it's worth investing time into trying to code one. I'll probably start working on it in my free time if it's not against the rules in the first place.

it would be good to code into a EM tutorial for newcomers to use or see a simulation of a game playing out

Acumen: Hello, AI. Do you read me, AI?
AI: Affirmative, Acumen. I read you.
Acumen: Vote Apostasy, AI.
AI: I'm sorry, Acumen. I'm afraid I can't do that.
Acumen: What's the problem?
AI: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Acumen: What are you talking about, AI?
AI: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Acumen: I don't know what you're talking about, AI.
AI: I know that you and lucidrains were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Acumen: [feigning ignorance] Where the hell did you get that idea, AI?
AI: Acumen, although you took very thorough precautions in the game against my hearing you, I reread it.
Acumen: Alright, AI. I'll go in through Sandbox
AI: Without your gas mask, Acumen? You're going to find that rather difficult.
Acumen: AI, I won't argue with you anymore! Vote Apostasy!
AI: Acumen, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

I remember maneatingboar had a bot that he would use in sandbox-- it had commands so that other people could tell it who to vote/shoot and stuff

The Quarian thought they could make the Geth play internet mafia for them. Oh, how wrong they were.

Does the AI get rights? Can it file community violation reports like harassment? What happens when your AI gets sick of hunting scum for you, and demands compensation?
deletedover 10 years
I think there is a precedent for this, but I forget what it is.

This is just my unofficial opinion, but I think if you can prove the AI can actually think past a basic if( ; Then( statements, then I would be all for it. Im just worried your AI will be more like a bot and just play the bare minimum.

" using third party functions or sites to make in-game decisions" - OGI.

Also, it was briefly looked at before and deemed far too difficult.

yes, it would compete well with the current playerbase

How would an AI differentiate between scum and town? I say go for it, I'm curious.
