Posting in the forum and making sure he knows about the bug are two different things. He doesnt check the bug forums daily; how else would he know?
In any case resetting/changing your e-mail should work
If you signed your account up with 10MinuteMail or another throw-away mail service you'll get the message because lucid banned us from doing that

Thats pretty odd, doesnt happen for me. Maybe thr ysername is taken but that message shows up for some reason?
If thats not the case I'd contact lucid or make sure he knows of the bug.
