After a successful campaign for mod, in which I won a popular vote of over 70% out of a total of 34 votes. But I have yet to become a mod.
What do YOU believe is the call for such... dare I say it... humbuggary! Is it
1.) The lack formal application process.
2.) The mod board be against popular opinion.
3.) The control of accounts like "Oprah" in hiding their identities.
4.) A vast conspiracy intended to negate any justice from the mod system through well planned moderation. This intended to continue the injustices of the past and to keep certain high ranking moderators from losing their position through public opinion polls. The public opinion would, otherwise, be far more likely to control the outcome of controversial reports. It is, of course, much fairer. The public can easily sift through reports, and in general will be less likely, as a whole, to help out friends and other mods in maintaining accounts when they should be banned. The mods themselves are far more likely than the general public to make unjust decisions for personal reasons unrelated to reports. Therefore reports that the public deems controversial should be taken before a public poll to decide the outcome.
I suspect that the mods are trying to keep anyone from stirring up too much "trouble" in respect to their site power and irrational behavior.
