trans women identify as women. they are women. not every trans woman is attracted to men the same as any cisgender woman isnt necessarily attracted to men.

Is there a requirement for homosexuality in being trans? Surely if you're socially identifying yourself as one gender (i.e. having the characteristics of), you don't necessarily need to be homosexual? You could have a girl who's a real tomboy - loves everything masculine - but still isn't lesbian? And visa versa?

the whole point of this poll is to gather data. it ruins the data if you have cisgender girls voting as boys.
usually, at least in my experience, people see trans as a more permanent option to being homosexual. if it was more socially acceptable to be transsexual, i feel like people would move towards the transsexual route, rather than homosexual route.
but that is my inexperienced ideology, i'm not a sociologist so I don't know the exact parameters or anything.

So why did Sammie have a problem with girls voting 'male' on the poll? Do we know whether they socially identify themselves as male or not? And what exactly is the threshold for 'sociological identification' - how "manly" does one feel before they're considered trans?

I always assumed gender was determined by the chromosomes rather than what's going on in your pants. Some women are born without the necessary 'hole' (sorry for bad vocab) but still have the characteristics and, more importantly, the DNA makeup of a female.

well, normally i would agree with u, but there's a such thing as intersex which is when you have a mixture of the two biological sex's physical characteristics!
however trans means opposites, so basically if their sex is male (or female), and they feel like a female (or male) in order to escape certain death under sharia law (i.e. homosexuality), they become females (or males) using surgery!
