this whole thing happened because sammie just couldn't accept that girls can identify as boys.
I really don't understand why is it is so difficult to accept people as being the gender they identify as...

why is your position different from the consensus of the APA? all those years of college you went through to learn about psychology, right?
that's not how it works.
That's just how it is, no further explanation to it. It's like asking why are males born as males.

Regardless of gender everyone looks different and acts different due to uniqueness in DNA/genes and environmental factors.

Depends which gender reproductive system they more closely resemble. If it's so hard to tell then the option "other"
