How is this an issue that needs to be discussed by the community? This is cut and dry. We're under scrutiny thanks to adsense/google TOS. The solution proposed fixes everything in one swift blow. A quick decision needs to be made, not a discussion. Sometimes that has to happen.
All you're doing is detracting. And Shacky you're right, I'll add to my op.
For everyone who wishes to contribute to this thread...
This is an example of a BAD idea. Please adjust your ideas accordingly so that they reflect the content guidelines of adsense. Thank you.
that's just your opinion and you should be respectful of all opinions

You seem to have put a lot of thought in to this, lolwot, and I appreciate your input. Thank you.

Sometimes it's better to discuss issues as a community, rather than insist that only your own idea is the correct one. Or have we not learned anything recently?

3. A slightly less practical, much more tedious but extremely reliable method would be hiring a team of forum mods to specifically moderate all the threads in forums. ~10 people separate from the mod team. They would be required to read all threads, all posts, and act accordingly on any inappropriate content. Even though this isn't as practical as the other two methods, it does hold the most benefits being:
-Forum mods have FULL control over what gets posted on the forums and what doesn't. -Inappropriate content will be found quicker and removed without waiting on a global mod to get online. -99% efficiency and accuracy to remove inappropriate content. Almost nothing will slip by for Google to disapprove of. -Forum mods have more flexibility with giving warnings before handing out violations for inappropriate content so the relaxed environment of the forums will not be compromised TOO much. -Forum harassment will be controlled and eliminated for the most part.
This is ideal for those who don'tn necessarily play games anymore, but enjoy posting on the forums regularly.
#3 coupled with tools #1 and #2 would enable the staff to run a tight ship in regards to content posted on the forums without overwhelming themselves, or getting any surprise warnings from Google when something malicious slips through the cracks.

1. I think the easiest and most practical way would be to implement a censor system where Lucid inputs a string of terms that automatically get censored, or replaced with a different word. I have seen this done on various forums and find it hilarious when words like "f***k* "f****t" "n****r" and c*nt* get censored to "kittenz". A censor system would not prevent inappropriate context (sexual or violent) and will not guard against alternate spelling or abbreviations of words.
2. The next easiest, but unreliable, method would be a flagging system. Users can go around flagging posts that need to be deleted. However, there can be a lot of content missed due to users simply ignoring inappropriate posts. Just because something doesn't get flagged doesn't mean it's in the clear. And mods would still need to keep an eye out for these kinds of threads that don't get flagged.

In the other threads, there was an idea for a filter that censors explicit words, either the whole word, or possibly leaving the first letter. Imo this is the best solution.
