Honestly, the gameplay started to go down for the past 2 years.

Nowadays, not only people in red hearts but in comp plays like fucknig retrads and if you disagree with their erroneous preconceived ideas, they lynch you for it. Its annoying as hell and the comp scene took a hit for it. Most players that play comp are from red heart and have their own culture of what is scummy and what isnt. The average red players scumreads based on objectivity and what is 'scum behavior' etc while orange players can be flexible and understand bias, intentions, motivations and so on. It seems like this POV is getting lost.

Nowadays, any average players thinks they can claim any role in any setup. They think they can get away with it when they don't have the charisma nor the skill to towntell and explain their behavior well enough to justify said behavior. Its annoying and very time consuming because we have to read into random players who thinks they are helping town by ccing any role; you now have to rea if that player is either a mefia ccing or a dumbass being a dumbass not knowing how to play the goddam setup.

Of course, the moderators side with the bad game play. That's all they do know is continue poor game play and never punish people for actually poor game play.

Agreed! I got reported (and then given a violation by Charley) because a cop did not claim during a simple G&H game before the gun was shot. The player had previously been annoyed by another player doing the exact same thing, so I voted that player to show my disdain for this annoying and terrible gameplay. Of course, the moderators side with the bad game play. That's all they do know is continue poor game play and never punish people for actually poor game play.

no, you are just noob.
I joined... what 8 years ago? Comp has been for like past 6 at least. And let me clear - the reason is not just because red heart (even though at the time there were separate lobbies for competitive games and red hearts) players switched to comp, but also because everyone can act like because it takes them no time to get a new alt. Back in the day you needed karma and kudos to start playing competitively. 1500 point threshold nowadays is a spit in oldfag faces, but this is needed otherwise EM would've been long dead.

Also speaking about the old lobbies, there were way more fun setups. Now all of the fun setups like Gallis Hunter and Minesweeper are removed, therefore people take fun to comp setups, instead just playing those fun setups.
