my psychologist told me everyone needs to vent sometimes and there is so much anger and bottled emotion I sense on this site so I thought i should start a thread so how is everyone feeling is everyone OK

well, the issue might be in the assumption that they have a goal other than helping you understand your feelings. from my experience, they literally ask you what your goals are as opposed to trying to set an agenda. im sure there are therapists out there that are manipulative in that way, though
if you know what your goals are there's no reason to go to one in the first place
if you know what your goals are a therapist can only gonna help you in the same way you can tell yourself how to get there
a therapist can't talk you out of having a disability for instance
