Hello Jackbox players, or soon to be players! Since Platypops usually hosts jackbox quite a lot, I thought a spiffy guide would be useful for those who'd rather read over listen for instructions.
First, Platypops will link the livestream on the lobby page and chatbox when he's streaming. Once he does, head on over there and http://jackbox.tv/ in another tab. The livestream shows you the progression of the game, jackbox is the interactive part where you play the game.
Upon entering, a 4-digit code will appear on the screen. If the game has yet to start you can join as a player, or if it's filled or already started you can become the audience, where you cannot win but can still participate.
Also, be warned that the livestream can lag anywhere from 2-8 seconds, so always assume you have less time then the livestream displays.
Now for the actual games, there are 5 games in Jackbox 3(one doesn't really work), so I'll list the other 4
Quiplash 2- One of the most simplest games, you are given two prompts to answer in any joking or anti-joking way possible. After everyone submits, you get to vote on all the other prompts as you pick which of two answers are more funny to you. Get 100% of the votes on your prompt to quiplash! Round 2 is worth double points, and Round 3 is even worth more, but everyone shares the same prompt.
Guesspionage- A simple percentage game where it gives you a prompt and you have to give the percent of people who agree with it, then everyone has to guess if it's higher or lower than your guessed amount(ex. Percentage of people who wear shorts with words on it's back, someone would guess 12% and you can guess if it's higher or lower), after everyone has a turn it goes to the final round, where it gives you 9 options for a question and you have to guess which 3 best fits that prompt.
Trivia Murder Party- This and the next game are considered the best of the new box. Once the game starts, you start answering basic trivia questions(more America culture and history based). Anyone who gets it wrong enters a death round, where they have to do a certain task or else they will die. Once dead you play almost like an audience member, but at the final round of the game there are quickround trivias where you can make a final desperate attempt at winning the game.
Tee K.O.- Draw anything. No, really. The first round of the game, you craft 3 drawings of any style that you want. It's really that simple. After that, you're asked to enter as many prompts as possible, like an open-ended quiplash question. You should answer 3-4 but you can enter as many as you want. After that, you will be given 3 t-shirts people drew and 4 prompts. You can match which t-shirt and prompt fits best or looks the funniest. Once they're all submitted, your shirt pairs up against a different shirt(the person who chose the shirt and prompt gets the shirt, not necessarily the person who drew it or entered the prompt.), but unlike quiplash you can vote for your own submission! After that round, the 2 best shirts are picked(whoever has the best streak and whoever wins the last round, I think). It's possible for there to only be one winner. Finally, a quick round begins where you draw one more shirt, enter a few more prompts, and all the unused shirts+prompts are recycled to create another shirt round. After another round of voting, the 2 best shirts from both eliminations get a final elimination, where the best of the 4 is picked to claim victory.
Fakin' it, mentioning this now because I got to properly play it. 1 player is a faker and the rest are normal, the normal people get a prompt(hold up 5 fingers, raise your hand if you've joined Facebook), the faker has to raise their hand/whatever with everyone else and usually has to lie their way out of certain scenarios.
