Greetings everyone!
In this thread I will start to reveal the SandboxRonpa cast. It will have a total of 18 students, 16 of them from that thread, 2 others made up by myself.
Those who played DanganRonpa would probably be a bit confused by the fact that it isnt 16 characters. All I can say for now is that it will be explained soon enough.
I'll reveal 2-3 characters a day.
Moving on to more important things:
How will this work?
I have a few options, and while I'm inclined to one over the others, I'd like to see what people think, so feel free to comment and vote in a poll I'll link at the bottom of the OP.
Option A
FanFiction: Easily the simplest both for me to work on and for you to read. I should be able to update the story more often with this, but it is also the less satisfying option. Also take in mind that while I am, imo, pretty good to come up with a plot, I'm not that much of a good writer. It'd be mostly script-based.
Option B
Videos with RPG Maker: Some of you may remember my Tales of Zombies thread ( https://epicmafia.com/topic/76615?page=1 ) in which I basically did a story and then used RPG Maker to make some videos based on them. I could also do this with SandboxRonpa. Make videos of about 10 mins every month or so. This would make things more visual and would give a better experience than the Option A imo. It would, however, be slower, obviously.
Option C
An actual RPG Maker Game: This is the option that would take the most time, effort and would have the slower updates. It is however the most satisfying experience. Let's be clear, I will NOT be able to replicate the actual DanganRonpa game, but I can mimic some of the mechanics and come up with some others. This would take a lot of time, and I may need help from people willing to work on it with me, but I think it would be pretty neat. Also, in case of going for this, the game would still be released in an episodic way, of about the same lenght as a danganronpa chapter each.
Let's be clear on something else. It doesn't matter which option I go for. This is a pretty ambitious project and it is possible that it will end up abandoned after a while, so I don't want you guys using the logic of "if he makes a game he will never finish it". I'd just rather know what you guys would enjoy the most.
A game would be able to make the experience better, with decision you would be able to make as a player that would affect the story. While the other two options, would be a communal vote in which the majority wins.
