ok I've come up with this idea to sort of revitalize games lobby and attract more people.

Every game will have a "king/queen" who is the best player at that game. Other players can "dethrone" the king by beating them at that game and then they take their throne and are the new king for that game. A board on the lobby page can keep track of each games' King/Queen. It can also keep track of like winning streaks or like how long they've been at the top. Also, Kings/Queens should be required to play a game once every few days or so to keep their title. Someone can be king/queen of multiple games.

idk I think this would be a fun way to instill some competition without making anything ranked and it would be fun to challenge the best of the best etc. Tell me what you think! I think this could end up being really fun

When I get king or queen I will refuse to play against anyone at that game again. :)

I think it's a good idea! To go off Furansu's idea, maybe at the end of every month, if the king/queen has kept their title for the entire period, the people "revolt" and overthrow the royal family and organize a tournament? Whoever wins would be the new king/queen for that month. After each reset period, the rules would remain the same.

Another idea: most of the time, the average peasant could not just challenge the king/queen to the throne. They'd have to work up the chain and get all the way to the king/queen's level. This is to help balance out the "king/queen has to face all their challengers" rule because the reality is that not all of us have infinite time to play our challengers whenever they challenge us. So, if we were to do the tournament idea, the person who got second would be the Prince/Princess or something. The Prince(ss) could be deposed in the same manner that the king or queen could be, and you would have to beat the Prince(ss) in order to challenge the king/queen. And if the same king/queen has been in power for a month but the prince/princess has changed a couple of times during that month, the king/queen would "die of old age" and the prince(ss) would inherit the throne.

TL;DR go with furansu's idea of resetting within a certain time period, maybe include a subordinate role of power that you'd have to challenge first so kings & queens don't get spammed with threats from scrubs

This is like exactly what we'd do when there was the BattleGrounds like hierarchy. Dude was the best but I lost to him by like 2 people and therefore was a clear second-best and from then on dude would force people to play me before they could challenge him.

However, I think that to start off we should just go with the basic plan I have laid out. Right now, games lobby isn't lively enough to have a steady ladder system. I think we just start with the basic format and if there's enough interest then we can expand the system.

based on the system cthulhu described we could use a ladder system, where players could only challenge the players 1 or 2 ranks above them for maximum efficiency.

Have it like a timely thing. It restarts at the start of a new time period (every two weeks or every month for example) and the title becomes up for grab

I like the aesthetic, but it's very easy to hold onto your title in the system you described. I couldn't think of a reasonable solution after a few minutes of thinking.

maybe if someone has held onto the title for the entire time period like what i described, they won't be able to run for the title they held for the next round

but maybe they can still be free to run for a title of a different game

Good thought, would be nice if its possible to implement.U say that the King cant be idle but what if he keeps playing himself with his alt account and retains the throne?

kind of hard to play minigames with urself

i think if this gets put it, we would continue to do what we did during the other competitions, which is require a screenshot

everyone's alts get discovered eventually, and we do have a report system for suspiciousness ;)

i think it's fun though I have no idea how hard it would be to implement. if lucid has the time and patience though, I say it would be worthwhile. : )
