this guy thinks he can report people and then moderate that report himself. This is blatantly not how things should be done.
If this is how things should be done, the mods appear to have a stick so firmly entrenched in their own bums that whoever could remove it would be crowned king of EM.
Hello, OP here, I am not just some banned user trying to troll people. I am a long-standing member of this community who has contributed money through purchases and donations, for years, both on this account, and my original account, dating back to 2010.
If you need more evidence as to why this is complete bunk, here's a report that should exonerate me.
Self moderation applies to most site things but not harassment. More just one person involved kinda stuff. However, it should be minimal and no one, even an admin, should ever close their own appeals. (Unless, in pereking's case, it's just report spam and it was already sustained, ofc!)
I generally dislike self moderating unless it is open-and-shut only-the-user-involved type things. Imo~
Mods can report and self moderate. The only time they can't do that is if they are reporting for a game they are in themselves.
More importantly, mods SHOULD report and self-moderate for things like inappropriate username/avatar, inappropriate content, report spam, and most other community violations. It allows them to keep the community clean in a more efficient manner (they see a user with some inappropriate content, they fix it right away).
The only time I don't like use of the report-self-moderate is when it's a mod reviewing a bunch of a particular user's games and finding reasons to vio them, which doesn't generally happen (and the one time I remember it happening there was really good reason for it).
