I've shared my opinions on whatever matters they've been a part of but literally every time I say anything they respond with something EXTREMELY harsh and violent. The "I hope you get cancer" line should probably seal the deal on what kind of person they are. I've only ever called them an idiot but NOTHING as extreme as this.

telling someone you hope they get cancer is absolutely reprehensible. there’s a difference between defending yourself and saying horrid things to people, and that crosses the line.
