All he said is that it's a mental illness, there's nothing derogatory about it. You're offended? Well tough luck. I'm offended when people say they support Trump, doesn't mean I'm going to report them.

who are you jenny?
anyways, jamal's post is easy to dissect. He immediately makes the assertion that transgender people are mentally ill, something that I find offensive and derogatory, then goes on to saying that treating transgender individuals as mentally ill is seen as inhumane, which it is, but then claims that because transphobia is seen as inhumane, people like Jenner are allowed to get gender re-assignment surgery, an obvious answer to any gender dysphoria.
You've linked me to a wikipedia article and a website called queergrace. I won't take my information from those oh so credible sites but rather from licensed psychiatrists that deal with this type of thing for a living. Being transgendered is a mental disorder. It is a fact, it is debated by people who feel as though that it is meant to be an insult. That is not what it is. If people are saying "Oh yeah, transgendered people are disgusting and mentally up, I hate them." THAT would be an offensive comment. What I brought to the table was a fact which you consider to be widely debated, but a fact nonetheless. If we are having a discussion about transgendered people and gender dysphoria, why would I leave out information just because YOU find it to be offensive?
There's nothing derogatory about saying it's a mental illness. I'm just no one would be shocked if I said schizophrenia was a mental illness, because it just is.

Jamal, I've linked you in PM to some sites stating that they aren't mental illness, as it's a widely debated issue. I've told you before that differing opinions are welcome, as if you've actually read through the thread you will realize, but you are flat out saying that transgender people are mentally ill, an unwelcome offensive comment to the community. As a sandbox mod I just can't do anything I want, but other peoples opinions isn't a backhanded, degrading comment that yours was.
It's not a fact that transgender people are mentally ill, but an opinion, and extremely offensive ones shouldn't be posted on the forums.
Mods, I'm not going to argue with Jamal here, but I want to simply say that I am a transgender person myself, and I find these accusations Jamal makes about who I am at a personal level, and making remarks in such a manner should not be tolerated.
I'm legitimately confused as to why you are so willfully blind? Like you are choosing to not even believe that gender dysphoria is a thing that exists. It is a mental disorder and I even said in the original comment that people started to believe that treating people for it was inhumane which I agree with. You shouldn't be accusing people of transphobia so loosely, it hurts because some of my good friends are transgendered but again, I won't lie to myself about what being transgendered is. Does it mean I love them any less? No.
You're a sandbox mod, if you don't want a thread that could host some offensive comments to you (since you're the only one seemingly mad about me bringing out facts about what being transgendered is), then don't allow the thread in the first place. Obviously you shouldn't expect the thread to be filled with "Yes. Transgendered people are a gift to society. Nothing wrong with them. Completely normal and perfect."
"What do you think about transgenderism (GID/gender dysphoria)?" is stated in the thread. I gave my opinion along with FACTS. You choose to lie to yourself and say that being transgendered isn't a mental disorder. It's not an insult, simply a fact. Gender dysphoria.

IC- Posting content anywhere on the site that could be considered derogatory, vulgar, or slanderous, including, but not limited to, the forums and comments.
You talk about transgender people in a derogatory manner, claiming they are a mentally ill group of people, as well as making a backhanded comment about a transgender celebrity, furthering my case of blatant transphobia.
Calling something what it actually is isn't IC or HC

No, users like MeetTerry and Floor have highly differing views from me and I accept them as their opinions. There's a difference between having an opinion and blatantly offending transgender people by calling them mentally ill, Jamal.
