Hello. I am the Monk. On June 20th, my master, Riddler, sent me to this village. Our hopes were to propagate the doctrine of peace and mercy. Using the power granted to me and those before me, every night I may choose a person if I so will. They will then be immortal until the next night. Night kills, firearms and even lynches cannot harm them. Ultimately, my goal is a world without suffering. Two days and nights without death after which the most bloodthirsty of villagers and heartless of mafiosos will realize the error of their ways. However, witnessing a couple of my miracles might also cause a change of heart. My ambitions have earned me plenty of spite. Names such as "hippie bastard", "third party scum", and "lynch-on-sight" are all too common to my ears. But I am of a higher caliber. I am no tool of the Mafia, like the Killer or Fool. Nor am I a coward, like the Amnesiac or Survivor. So go ahead, kill me at night. Hang me at the gallows. Shoot me through the heart. I won't bother saving myself. But the next time your Doc is dead or your Bodyguard just wrecked himself; the next time your Gallis is popped or the Mafia has a gun; the next time the Lyncher is leading a bandwagon or the Governor just lynched the Fool: I will be there. And if you pray, and ask very nicely, perhaps, I'll give you the mercy of an early loss: Monk wins! Peace & happiness wins! This game was unranked!
Because when I win, everyone wins.
