i hate the sequel trilogy in general. The designs are lame, the characters are boring, nothing ever happens on a galactic scale. The past two movies could have taken place in one solar system and nothing would have changed.
Damn...if Jeff hates a Star Wars movie, you know it’s bad.
Solo ruled though.
Other than Han.
Personal grievances with the film:
-Phasma is an awesome cold hearted in the books and comics redeeming her character totally (explains perfectly why she betrayed the first order so easily in force awakens.) Proceeds to get 5 minutes of screen time and dies like the glorified stormie they want her to be (again)
-First Order sucks . They had so much potential to be an evil terrorist group facing a big republic similar to like ISIS vs the West (in the opening crawl to force awakens this is how they’re described too!) Instead we get Empire 2 down to reskinned tie fighters. Lame
-Called Star WARS yet there is no war to speak of. In the two films combined there’s like only like two battles between a literal handful of resistance ships and a couple of star destroyers
-Why the FRICK would they use the new bombers?? They were so damn slow, fragile and . Why not just use a y-wing or a b-wing??
-Red lobster ninjas introduced solely to job to kylo and rey
-YOURE A WIZARD LEIA
-luke projects himself across the galaxy to trick Kylo into thinking he killed him, punk him into not getting the satisfaction of killing him as a lesson and then dies immediately anyways.
-Rose’s sister seemed like a more interesting character and instead we get her boring dweeb sister
and finally
Admiral fking Ackbar dies OFF SCREEN. NONE OF THE CHARACTERS GIVE A SHT. WHY? HES THE BEST
There are a lot of reasons people did not like it and I’ll list a few:
-Rian was hopped up on subversion juice
-luke did jack for his young life, saves the galaxy and then does jack for 30 years and then dies alone
-luke almost kills kylo for having some slight darkside thoughts despite his entire character in ROTJ was that he refused to kill the second most evil piece of in the universe because he still saw good in him.
-Rose
-Rian introducing Rose solely for his self admitted asian nerd fetish
-Holdo (Purple haired lady)
-Poe being chastised for his appropriate and sane behavior throughout the movie
-Poe being applauded for his inappropriate and childish behavior throughout the movie
-Finn being regulated as a side character
-Hyperspace suicide bombing invalidates the entire series since why didnt anybody do it before (especially to the death star(s)
-OT pandering
-quips
-virtue signaling
-disney
-soulless
-canto bright scene in general
-snoke dying before we ever give a about him and expecting us to actually care for his death
-literal harry potter magic mirror
-rian’s lactation fetish
