Has anyone here ever had it? I might need it, I had a sublaxation in my right shoulder over 5 years ago playing football and since then the injury has recurred periodically, especially during sports but sometimes through small things such as sneezing or grabbing something far away
Today it sublaxated for the umpteenth time again during basketball, but it was especially worse than other times. It stayed separated for about 15-20 seconds or so, and this has happened other times too but this time it hurt a lot more and felt a lot worse. It still hurts right now, and it happened about 5 hours ago.
I have seen doctors and tried physiotherapy before, and I'm going to try it again, but I just want to know if anyone here has ever had shoulder surgery, what it's like, what to expect, etc. just in case I have to do it. I'm 21 years old and recovery probably won't be as hard for me compared to someone who's older, but I know it's an extensive recovery time as well.
It hurts my shoulder and part of my back by the shoulder blade area. Right now I can't use my right arm to do anything really other than small things. I can't lift or anything or even raise my arm very much. Even using a mouse hurts if I move my arm too fast or the wrong way. This is worse than it's ever been for sure, as usually the pain subsides somewhat quickly and by the next day I can do regular things again. I have not had full range of motion in my right arm since the initial injury however, in October of 2011.
