Hosts:
Elfen Picante
When:
December 4th @ 7 PM EST
Participants:
16, 20, or 24 players
Format:
The players are separated in two groups. Say, if the players are 16, there will be two groups of 8.
How every group will work:
Out of the, say, 8 players (we'll take an example, it can be more), everyone will play against everyone. A player will pick a challenge every day. (A player cannot pick more than once, and a challenge cannot be picked twice in the same group) There will be 7 challenges played in total. One player will not pick a challenge (as a compensation for that, his opponent, in any day, won't get to pick a challenge for the day). We have 7 matchdays, one for every challenge. Every player will face everyone else. When everyone has faced everyone, the best 4 players (those with the more wins) from each group proceed to the Quarterfinals. In case of a tie, head to head results count for breaking the tie. If head to head results are the same and the tie matters for positions 1-4 of the group, players involved in the tie get to play a tiebreaker challenge to break the tie.
Knockout Stage:
When group stage ends, challenges are annuled and every listed challenge (it doesn't matter if it was picked in the group stage or not) can be picked in the knockout stage. Top 4 from Group A and top 4 from Group B play in the quarterfinals. Of course, the players with better positioning in the group will face players with worse positioning in the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals are best of 3. The highest positioned player gets to pick 2 of the challenges, the lowest positioned player gets to pick 1. Semifinals are best of 5. The highest positioned player picks 3 of the challenges, the lowest positioned player (in the group stage) picks 2. The final is best of 7. The highest positioned player picks 4 of the challenges, the lowest positioned player picks 3.
