why is everyone so hostile

this is a legitimate question i have about the epicmafia forums. not that it isn't entertaining but I guess I'm just wondering what it is about these forums (or epicmafia in general) that breeds this type of behavior

Is it the type of people that this type of game attracts, is it the relaxed approach to forum moderation or something else??

i am not looking to change the state of anything with this post, mostly looking for interesting discussion on the topic

no but I don't even think it's specific users that engage in hostility - I think just the general vibe of the forums tends to be hostile. There are instances where people just go at it for 40 pages or so but it just feels like the average poster on epicmafia tends to be more hostile or negative than other places

anonymity + the relative lack of consequence for being hostile on the internet. really no different from any other forum/pool of communication

on epicmafia i think that those who do engage in hostility are bad posters who can't shitpost well and therefore can't make others laugh
