i'd go with a process where you take recs and randomly pick one that's decently well-liked by a number of critics / a decent-sized audience (to weed out anything intentionally shïtty)

cool idea but how are these picks generated?

going off the first pick i'd say they're dooze's personal taste

I actually don't listen to this band much. My plan was to do a different genre every week and use spotify to to add the randomization factor to shuffle through and pick different artists. I started with alt rock because of the poll here.

a weekly strawpoll or thread w/ poll w listing some of the more "heavy rotation" albums might be a cool way of determining album of the week or maybe even by submission i don't know

I'd really like to do something like this, but also kind of wanted a surprise factor involved so that people look forward to it if that makes sense. Totally up for discussion though and I'm down to make changes

Could never really get into this album. Most of the songs were kinda samey and the highlights drag on for too long eg. cherub rock.

you're going to be judged immensely for these albums of the week and we're off to a questionable start
