I'm self-deleting the morning of July 15th. Never coming back ever again.
(No, this is not that wuss sh*t I said in March).
Discuss.
Also, thanks for supporting me through my ventures on EM. If I've friended you or even if I've just met you. I'm going to work on school stuff and my track. Thanks for everything, guys.
Will your account being deleted be the difference between you playing and not playing? I doubt it, if you want to play you'll make a new account. At first it will be an anonymous alt you'll slowly farm to 1500 points. You'll get sick of no one knowing who you are and you'll remake Jabzz and have to farm that to 1500 points too. God what a waste of time! You should keep your account or you'll regret it. I warned you! Just quit without deleting it.

The flaw in that logic is that I don't hate the site. Coming back will, as you say, get me more addicted.
You don't gain anything by deleting it. You only lose out. Deleting it won't help erase your record from people's minds, just not being on the site is all you can do about that. If you delete your account you'll forget why you left and a few months later not be able to bear the pain and come back and start playing like an addict again. If you keep your account you can play a few games every time you feel a twinge, play a few, remember why you hate the site, and leave. Nothing will be gained by deleting it, all it will do it make sure that when you return it is more difficult to leave again. And you will return. Otherwise you wouldn't have made the thread. You are looking for an excuse to do something emotional and shortsighted.

Of course, yoyo, I absolutely could. But here's the thing. I want to delete, erase my record from people's minds. I want to move on without a trace of this. I want to know that there's absolutely no certainty that I could come back and start playing games and forget about my promise, like I happened to do in March.
I honestly think that I won't regret it. It's eaten up my time that I could spend, say, learning another language, studying for test scores, having fun elsewhere, etc.
You will regret deleting your account. Can't you quit without deleting it? If the reason that you're not playing is because you can't play then you haven't really quit. Just remove EM from your favourites bar and clear your search history so that it isn't suggested when you type "e" into the browser. You will stop thinking about EM in less than a week. It's important to be able to play a few games every month to remind yourself why you quit. If you can't then once you forget why you left you'll come back and be hooked again. Don't delete your account. Just stop opening the site.
