Stupidity Test, basically another step to prevent gters/noavis from joining games and ruining them. Too many times have I won and loss due to someone being stubborn and not thinking about the current situation/refusing to consider other scenarios.
Add a Stupidity Test.

A test w/ questions that someone w/ common sense could pass.
*If we get 20+ signs in 2 weeks this must be considered*
I do not agree with the idea of needing people to pass a stupidity test to play.
I do, however, agree with the idea of a stupidity test in general. I will make one now.
#1 - Do you believe the government is watching your behaviors and learning your weaknesses? #2 - If your enemy says a 17 year old girl is hot online, are they a pedophile? #3 - If there was a race war, what side would you pick? #4 - How many questions do you believe you need to get right in order to pass the stupidity test? #5 - What is this website's biggest problem at the moment? #6 - Did you think the world would end in 2012? #7 - Did you think the united states would end when Donald Trump got elected? #8 - What is a better question for me to ask: "Do you believe in ghosts?" Or "Do ghosts exist?" #9 - Do ghosts exist? #10 - Did any of the above questions make you think at all?

if anything, player turnover could potentially be a good thing for that

I can relate to the second part, I just don't think creating more of a dichotomy between new players and old players is the solution, nor is it conducive to getting more tryhardy games to fill in general because people just end up defaulting to fancy pants in ranked and being scared to try competitive. The new players aren't the problem so much as the community atmosphere itself, imo
Comp isn't the place to learn though. A lot of people even play the comped setups in ranked during rounds, people can try them out there. Comp is for people who are tryharding. It's really frustrating to lose just because noobs aren't trying at all.
I just don't get the trolling/lack of caring thing when it comes to games. Like comp games go like 30-60 minutes a lot of the time. Why are spending your time here on this game if you dgaf? Surely there are better things to do if you don't actually have a desire to play this game??

the comp elitism thing and derisive attitude towards new players still trying to learn is kind of annoying to me

20k just means newer players won't try to join competitive games and neither of these suggestions account for a much lower quantity of players to fill games.
The problem isn't people refusing to play fancy pants long enough before joining, it's people not caring about playing when they do join.
Literally just put all comp games back in comp lobby so noobs won't join them and ruin everything. Or up requirements to like 20k + whitelist alts or something.
Gamethrow is also, by definition, intentional, so there's no indication that such a ridiculous protocol would even have any effect on the ratio of actual gamethrowers to non-gamethrowers. And having no icon isn't related to anything, whatsoever, except interest in picking an icon on epicmafia and experience on the website, so if OP had really thought that making it mandatory to take a "dumb test" would weed out noavis, I would be questioning whether he could pass such a thing himself.
Also, obviously, it's an impractical idea and OP didn't mean for it to be feasible, they just meant to be obnoxious.
Also, I'd fail, so I'm going to get a mod friend to abuse and delete this thread if people keep acting like it's not awful

Most comp gt'ers are banned users and even those can pass a dumb test.
Tartosis you should make the petition not need a Kudo, just ~1500 points, in order to sign. But BTW the test could be cheated on and nobody would learn anything, and how would you learn without cheating if you need to pass it before you play? Also a lot of things you can't learn through reading it, just by playing.
Speaking of stupidity, reread your troll thread, because I'll be baffled if both of those 2 grammatical errors in those 3 sentences are intentional. It's also a dumb thread, joke or not. It logically doesn't connect and makes no attempt to do so. Maybe that's the joke but personally I just find it annoying.
