Boycott 200th: A Letter to Sandbox

Hello,

I normally try to stay on the down low in Sandbox by staying out of most topics. However, I've noticed more and more that this event Plissken has been promoting coming up has been making waves - negative waves, I might add. To be clear, I am not saying that what Plissken has done is wrong in any rule-sense. That said, Plissken's actions have been getting to me and I am expressing my opinion about why it is frustrating me. I believe that we should boycott Plissken's event as a community, and here is why:

  1. I have enough advertising in my life. Why should I subject myself to more advertising? I go here to relax, not to expose myself to someone who has taken up sponsors to try to self-promote. This is Lucid's site, not Plissken's.

  2. For those in the chat: Do you miss having chats with other users about anything? I'm tired of seeing the staged crusades Plissken has gone on to promote his event - Frustrating to not be able to see the normal chats about life from everyone all the time.

  3. For those bothered by this like I am: How do we know this "promoting" is going to stop after this event? As Plissken said himself, he did the same thing for 25 days of Christmas and no one complained. He also (allegedly) did this same event last year and wanted to make it bigger than then - do you want a repeat of this all next year when he wants to make it even bigger? Even moreso...how do we know that other users won't try to pick up the mantle and promote their own events via the same channels of communication? I'm afraid of Sandbox turning into a place of sponsors and not just laid back fun.

  4. Plissken is attempting to control feedback on his posts about his event. This is a problem because I can't express my opinion as a user. What the hell is the point of having a thumbs up or thumbs down on posts if the author is only going to delete and repost over and over?

To Plissken: I appreciate you taking the time to make this event. I really do and I'm positive it takes a lot of planning. But it has gotten out of hand and is really starting to grind a lot of peoples' gears.

I will not be making an appearance at that event and I would like to encourage you all to boycott it as well to send a message to those who would try to replicate what Plissken has done this past year in the future. Thank you for your time.

Do not miss the largest event of the month, the year, the decade, and of all time: Jamal's 200th LIVE on April 21st! This will be a record-breaking, history-making event with Marley V Plissken headlining with special guest Chaika in which JamalMarley will slay a sad obese user who claims Sandbox will not fit both of us (this is due to his obesity) and JamalMarley will create a diet plan and exercise routine for Chaika!

You'll need the entire week of April 16th-20th to rest and prepare for Jamal's 200th and you'll need to sit back and relax on April 22nd to watch the fallout of Jamal's 200th and the shockwaves that will shake this lobby to its core.

Fatasses, stock up on your sugary snacks and carbonated beverages that will give you diabetes as you will not want to miss a moment of this marvelous event!

Poor people who have to work for a living, book April 21st off of your sad minimum-wage paying job in order to be apart of history!

YEAH! Seconded to f#ck off and let things be. If anything, you are b#tching about not being able to be negative for the hell of negativity. You few who have nothing better to do than downvote or down verbally anything anyone does. It's one thing for a few people to legit not like something. I have acknowledged in all my time hosting that my games won't be everybody's cup of tea. But, I will say there are some posters who are here for reasons I can't figure out, like Ben. A user who never expresses any fun ever in anything relevant to the actual games in the site. Just downs every thing. This community won't be anything with people, even a small few, just downing everything that happens, every attempt to better this place and that many others like. The smallest angriest few are usually the loudest, but on this site they cant be taken seriously. look at how many use alts to upvote their own content etc, and i'm called a troll. these users are a joke like Jamal.

And screw you. I have been hosting almost 3 years come the Fall and I have been here longer, and I have been playing these mafia-based games since before coming here on Slasher when it was around.

I love this game at its core and this lobby in particular because of what it really is. And I have been around as familiar faces have come and gone and had to constantly reintroduce myself and reinvent myself to new waves of users who didnt know me.

But I have always been me. You can not really look at just one event. You don't know me or what I stand for. You blindly downvote and think selfishly about what YOU want. Alts are pretty powerful, just ask JamalMarley, the current troll.

You can't look at something like that existing here and complain about me. My advertising is not a product of me, it is actually the fault of the very community that "hates" it and as I stated once before I will prove that at the Plissken's 200th Press Conference on April 15th in a public statement.

Plissken's 200th is LIVE April 16th-April 22nd and people are going to love it just like they did Plissken's 100th over 20 months ago, not last year, almost 2 years ago btw.

And it is way too close, less than 2 days away for you to be trying to pull some stupid sh1t like this. F#ck off.
