Bebop's Album Reviews

almost 8 years

Spiritual successor to this thread: https://epicmafia.com/topic/82627

Greetings Epicmafia community,

Previously I had a thread (linked at the top) where I would rate albums suggested to me by the community. This thread will be somewhat similar to that, but I'll be posting full reviews of the albums.

In addition to that, the albums will not necessarily all be community curated, of course I'll be accepting suggestions from members of the community via this thread, but I'll also be reviewing newly released albums and some classics as well!

I hope you enjoy the reviews I write and perhaps find an album that you like!

Gluee by Bladee

a really solid album, deserving of its spot on my top 10. i'd recommend it to anyone wanting to try something new. i'd say this is one of the pioneering releases in the modern cloud rap genre, although most cloud rap is different (viper, lil b), bladee and his contemporaries within gravity boys and their friends over in sad boys definitely have their niche down to an art. the ethereal, dreamlike beats with perfect production (kudos to whitearmor, yung sherman and others) mix perfectly with bladee's over-autotuned voice. if you can get past the strangeness of the genre, it's standing at the top of the pile as far as cloud rap is concerned.

9/10
