On hidden alt's/Rep

Do you think hidden alts should even be a thing? What about Rep?

Or should everyone go into a game with a clean slate?

I like alts. More curious as to who Cody thinks can beat Cody in challenges though, because I'm pretty sure Cody has like a 25 WPM advantage over everyone who isn't Cody
Edit: Also Cody thinks lots about the strategy of his games, and makes lots of cool new games like the water poles thing. Also Cody knows big words and lots of words for word games

are you gay for Cody

I know I am....

Alts fun

I love playing on hidden alts. It's fun to try to win using stupid gimmicks and such. Honestly one of the only reasons I do it is because it adds flavor to the game, something different. I've been finding myself getting bored in small games on my main. I find it's just as hard to win a game on an alt than on my main, at least for me.

My hidden alt ripple has been doing pretty well though

oh and yeah rep matters and i should probably care about it more tbh. anon games are great though, but they don't come as often and honestly like cody said it's not really super difficult to tell who someone is. My "Secret Alts" usually only last a game because they are found out so fast.

As a person who uses alts in almost 50% of the games he play, I only do it for the enjoyment of taking on a completely different persona. I can see why someone might argue against alts being used because the purpose tend to be for hiding someone's rep. Still, playing on an alt is no less fair than it is playing on your main. I don't win "only" on my alts because people don't know who I am; I win because you're too busy spending your time figuring out who I am. Good players don't base their game around targeting who they think are "threats" because of previous experiences, but rather who they can tell are controlling the current game.

reputation/meta is unavoidable, the only way to avoid it is anon games. Of course, it makes the game of survivor less pure, but what can you do. Even if you try not to use meta, the subconscious mind won't forget how people play and it will influence your decisions and who you want to work with.

With that said, people misuse meta way too much. They don't know how to deal with strong players so they just fear-lynch them, or sheep them.

To remove meta you need anon games, and you need players that don't spend the game trying to figure out who is who.

With that said, I think hidden alts can be really fun to play with sometimes. It's nice playing a game where no one knows that the player is you. It does take time to develop that alt though, because people always go "new player that doesn't suck? Must be an alt!"

you can usually figure out who someone is by the way they talk though

I think their functionality is long overdue, since when people see what they assume is an alt account, they spend the whole time wondering who it is instead of immediately assuming it's a new player.

People should host more anon games often so people dont have this urge to try to play on alts so they would play with a clean slate
