Here is a list of common misconceptions players have about the rules of site moderation. I'll update this list when I think of more entries.

Misconception: when you ask for a specific moderator or admin to handle your case / avoid your case, they must honor that request.

Reality: when you make a request about which moderators handle your report, the mod team will often honor your request as a kindness, but they are under no obligation to do so, and if you frequently make such requests, they're unlikely to be listened to.

Misconception: it is against the rules for moderators to out your alts!

Reality: it is impolite for moderators to out your alts, and generally frowned upon, but it's not an actual rule, and sometimes moderators are actually forced to out your linked alts while reporting you or sanctioning your accounts.

Everything goes case by case. You can't always expect the same result.

Sometimes Alts MUST be kept hidden and sometimes certain mods MUST not do your reports.

And sometimes alts must be outed.

The problem is sometimes that moderator is either grudging you, or he is hired by someone (friend or admin) to purposly harras you.

Misconception: it is against the rules for moderators to out your alts!

People like Arcbell do it for the sole reason to make fun of certain player, when it is evident if they out it, that player will be harrased like on his main account.

Arcbell has a history of outing secret alts only to make fun of them.

There should be actual rule against that to be honest.
