Both go through similar things to achieve their desired look.
They are the same issue with small differences. You can't oppose one and be for the other because you think one is more weird or "delusional". It'd make you look like a hypocrite.
(i didn't mention what you said because it seemed a little off what I was originally saying by bringing the concept of gender and sex into this. hopefully I explained it easier)
let's use your example. your gender/sex is part of your identity, right? the idea that having certain genitalia means you have a certain gender is a concept, and therefore applicable to however you feel about otherkin and trans people (which, im assuming, is that they're delusional).
you can say anything that is a part of your identity is applicable.
what does this even mean

i think it's usually used as a coping mechanism, or an addition to someone's shaky identity, so it can be aiding in an already unhealthy thought pattern where you avoid yourself by putting yourself in another thing's shoes. it can be unhealthy in the long-run, but it does help you gather an idea of what your identity is. and no, floor, with that argument you can say anything that is a part of your identity is applicable.
Anything you say in regards to "otherkin" and their self-identity is applicable to transexuals. So however you feel about them should apply to otherkins.
i was just thinking abt this because where does the line get drawn btwn having relatable chatacters/things (i have a Few) and like. being kin. at what point is ur identity changed that much u know
its ok so long as they are aware its just a roleplaying thing and dont actually believe they are [insert kin]-kin irl.

let them have fun, as long as they aren't harassing other people because of it (as i've seen in detail from my years on tumblr). idk, i still think having a relatable character/thing/being rather than a kin is much healthier but i dont judge.
