hi folks, IRC is dope and lobbychat is ... weird, so , I thought I would make an IRC room. for those who don't use IRC, it's like Discord but older and better

Also unlike discord, registration is not necessary to use the program; it's very lightweight; there are no avatars....

The webchat is an easy way to get into IRC. HexChat is a popular Windows desktop client; more can be found here or with google.

Using a desktop client is nice because you can open it up and leave it open in the background, minimized to the system tray. Since small chatrooms have a slower pace, you can check in and out. IRC servers do not log messages, so other users won't be able to contact you when your webchat window is closed.

Basic commands: 

/me

same as in EM 

/away a short message

Set your status as away 

/nick newname

Change your nickname in the chatroom

/query nickname

Open a window for private messaging a user

Basic use:

type words in the box, hit enter, wait around

Actually here is an even better client than Hexchat: Nettalk!





It's that easy to get inside the chat! Some nicknames are used by other users on the server, so you may as well use your EM username. The password fields don't need to be filled in. I've indicated which fields need input with the red dot. Your first screen should be the same, type whatever you want into the second, and leave the third blank.

After you connect to the server from the server list, type "/join #epicmafia" to enter :)
