Now I'm not one for political debates in general, let alone on EM, but I really am amazed with this one in particular and thought I'd share it with all of you.
I'm sure if you pay even the slightest bit of attention to the news, you've heard about the one and only Betsy DeVos, Trump's pick for secretary of education.
What are you thoughts on her views, and in general her being chosen for the position?
During her hearing, she faced criticism that highlighted her lack of experience in any type of banking industry (she'll be handling the distribution of pell grants, loans, other types of student financial aid that is currently available, as well as the repayment of student loans). Mrs. DeVos also lacks any type of experience in the education industry as well.
Although most her responses were vague, or were simple "I don't know" answers, she did let us know the following:
She does not agree with schools being gun-free zones, and cited the need for guns in Wyoming due to Grizzly Bears - yes, really.
When questioned by Senator Sanders on equal opportunity for children and young adults of all backgrounds in America, she suggested that they should be making "informed decisions" on whether they can attend college. It's really, really great.
