These are a few things I find helpful:
(1)——In danger of getting lynched——try really hard to find scum (or fake so if you're scum). Defence cases usually doesn't help as much as doing proactive town things (ex. putting effort into making scum die). You should still hulk-smash any arguments being used to accuse you along the way.
(2)—It's /easier/ to get somebody to do something if it's their own idea. This particularly goes for not pointing out your own intended towntells, but it's surprising how often you can manipulate people by getting them to connect the dots themselves and thus become excited about an idea because it's 'their own.'
(3)——In Lylo——avoid being the first to vote (unless unusual circumstances ex. doing so to not look like you're hammer-sitting). You're just /mechanically and statistically/ substantially more likely to bag the win.
(4)—Town morale is important——I think effort / desire to win is the biggest factor in not getting lynched. It also makes you less likely to go along with what you feel might be a mislynch.
(5)—Loudness(contributing lots) —If you're loud, persistent, rational (not simply fillering or spurting garbage) and /not/ annoying you'll get a lot accomplished. I find It's generally difficult to lynch a loud person who is being useful and making sense.
