Hello I'm doing a pokemon draft league thing for epicmafia. If anyone has heard of the GBA for pokemon it stands for the global battle association and they created this league that mixes fantasy sports (kind of) with pokemon. So what will happen is depending on how many people are interested, we will draft 12 pokemon, 3 from smogon's ou and bl tier, 3 from uu and bl2, 3 from ru and bl3, and 3 from anything under bl3. With those 12 pokemon, you go head to head against other "coaches" each week and pick 6 of your pokemon to use, creating a competitive team. Then if we have enough people we can have playoffs and what not. If you're interested let post in the thread but you'll probably need to commit some time. However, we can probably do substitutions but if you're a sub you won't be able to pick your own draft you would just take whoevers draft that subbed out. Anyway more info including specifics will be amended in the thread based on who is interested but i'm going to limit this to 8 spots for right now.
Draft will be snakestyle format, and all battles will take place on pokemon showdown.
One rule I want to make sure I write down before I forget: no smashpassing.
due to popular request i'm probably going to change it to 12people and include lemejoe (sorry about spelling your name wrong) rutab, papuito who skype messaged me, and usernamepending.
Yeah but if you don't do it this way, draftig things like scizor and tyranitar are basically op af bc your opponent has to prep for a possibility of scizor or mega scizor etc.
the only people who i don't have added on skype are escurai and foolishcop. i'll make a group chat thingee for this and then we can decide on a draft day. @goodbar basically you pick pokemon to be on your team. for instance if i drafted tyranitar/scizor/starmie/etc etc etc, everyone knows that i have the 12 pokemon i drafted, and i pick a team of 6 from my 12 pokemon draft to counter the draft of someone elses team, and they do the same for mine. does that make sense?
also two rules: one mega per team, and mega's are different than standard forms. for instance, scizor and mega scizor are both ou. i could have regular scizor and calvin could have mega scizor. if you have the mega form of a pokemon, you MUST mega evolve before you use an attack. you aren't allowed to use both the mega and standard form. if you switch in your mega that hasn't been mega evolved, you are allowed to switch out without mega evolving, but you can't u-turn or volt switch out without mega evolving, and you can't attack or even protect without mega evolving.
