I watched a couple indy & art house movies last night that were only decent. I'd post about them, but meh. I'll update this thread sometime with the gucci stuff
Currently Watching: Le Samouraï Really good movie in my opinion. A lot of shots are handled completely (or at least mostly) without the need for dialogue so you won't be reading too many subtitles; if that's an issue for you. Plus it's got some great cinematography and imagery.
It's listed as horror but I think thriller is a more fitting genre.
The premise of the movie was quite interesting and the director, Jeremy Saulnier, did a very excellent job setting up not only a believable environment but also casting topically for the movie. The amount of effort he put into research and making the movie feel genuine really shows, however I don't think writing is necessarily his forte. The movie's plot was pretty straightforward, and the ending pretty dry and predictable.
If thriller movies are your thing I'd recommend this movie as I did enjoy it and it is quite excellent, but if they aren't this movie probably isn't for you
