i really believe that is a cultural factor and is very dependent on the culture that the person came from and the particular beliefs instilled by that person's family or religious faith if they have particular religious or spiritual beliefs. some belief systems are more forgiving and accepting of sexuality than others. there are other belief systems that perpetuate conflict, confusion, guilt, shame and doubt.
also u should remember that not all pre-op trans feel their body is mismatched. if their gender dysphoria is relatively lower, then they can be quite happy with a pre-operative body, and in this case, surgery is not advisable: the best treatment is the least treatment that works.
