about to do a BSc in Economics for the next 3 years.
What are some of the most important things you learned in your first year? Also share any advice in general
The dorms here are basically the cheapest form of accommodation. Can't say they're great, but they've got people.

Mumbai has absolutely no space. The college's residential accommodation is really cramped up and too expensive for its quality. Also almost 90% of students here live in their own place and commute every day.
you should focus solely on studying and dont bother making social relationships as it wont benefit you in anyway other than have connections when you are in a company. :')
This is a stupid idea unless you're looking for weed, booze, cheap hookups, or to be catfished
It's been helpful a few times, but the majority of the time it's just a time killer

It still applies if you have a smelly family so use it how you will

I'm not living on campus so I don't think I will be dealing with any living problems

Also learn when everyone else likes to shower so you can find the best time
This one dude smelled so bad that, even after he showered, the smell lingered in the bathroom
I don't know how you smell so bad that a shower makes everything smell even worse, but I learned to avoid every time he showered to save my nose

Hi Zhuorb
Force yourself into social situations every now and then if you're not so great at making friends
It helped me a lot for the entire year
Also, make friends with your professors. Don't just let them teach you and then be done. Becoming friends with my professors was probably the best thing I could do because they were always happy to help outside of class and even have a coffee somewhere on campus
make sure school is your top priority because being overwhelmed with all that freedom can make you steer away from the goal of actually passing and graduating
