Ok so while my laptop restarts since it is complete junk, I think bojack was developed as being a drama in mind, but I would classify it as a comedy mostly because I feel like genre classifications go for the more face level aspects of a show, and Bojack is primarily a comedy in that aspect.
I feel like the comedy takes precedence over the drams aspect and I don't really know why, especially considering the drama is what makes the show so great, but it's probably just because it's more prevalent. It's weird because I think the drama and comedy balance each other out almost 50/50, but that's mostly because even when there are episodes that are meant to be primarily comedy episodes, there is still always some underlying character development/conflict between two characters
The game show episode from season 2 is a great example of this because the episode itself is hilarious, but the underlying theme is still the relationship between bojack and mr. Peanutbutter and the envy between them is a really interesting dynamic for two cartoon characters, or just tv characters in general
I think Bojack captures human interaction really well because of how 3 dimensional the characters can be. Each character loves and hates different aspects of every other character, which is just a testament to how good the writers are
Anyway comedy first drama later. Lay more questions on me, bojack or not
would you classify bojack under a comedy or drama? obviously it has varying elements of different tv genre, but if you were forced to place it in one of those two which would you say is more fitting?
thank you for another bojack horseman question, you're really fueling the fire jack and i appreciate it. i will answer this in a second after i get another drink
