Disclaimer: This will be a very long winded post explaining the situation in its entirety. If you have something better to do with your life other than being involved with survivor lobby drama, then I suggest you move on and not bring this up again. However, if you do plan on gossiping about this or voicing your opinion on it, then I suggest you read this fully, or else you'll be confused as to why your comments about this incident will be deleted outside of this thread.
Firstly, I would like to say that I am 100% neutral in all of this. I was not involved with the game, and I have no favoritism towards Anna or Happy. I have spent the last two days collecting information, reviewing the games, and talking to everyone involved. I did not take this lightly, and cheating accusations in major games in the survivor lobby are taken very seriously to set a precedent that we do not tolerate it, considering games usually last around 6-10 hours, and no one wants to see games get ruined by cheating.
Moving on to the incident itself. In Happy0wn's BB36 that he hosted this past Friday night, Annajane was voted out in 20th place. She remained in the GY (Graveyard) for the rest of the game to watch and play the challenges while she was on a Skype call with her friends, Charley included. Whenever Happy had to remake his game, Anna would also re-join the remake so she could continue watching the game from the GY. This is normally accepted in survivor games, considering it is common for players to want to watch what unfolds from behind the scenes. The only time this is not acceptable is when players from the GY leak whispers or information to people still in the game. Even though Anna was on a Skype call with Charley, there is no evidence pointing towards her leaking information.
At final 10 in the game, the controversial situation happened. Charley decided she did not want to play anymore, even though she was still in the game. Instead of suiciding or asking to be voted out, she let Anna get on her account and play for her. The biggest problem with this is that neither Charley or Anna told Happy about this or asked him for permission. Happy did not find out until the next morning when the game was already over. The reason this became so controversial is because Anna ended up going on to win Happy's game on Charley's account.
Now, it can be easily understood why Happy would be so upset over this. If you have never hosted before, let me tell you that it is one of the most selfless and stressful things a person can do. It requires a lot of patience, time, and the understanding that even though you are doing your best to put on a game for a community of players, most of the time they do not understand, respect, or appreciate what you are doing for them. Happy not only hosted a large 20+ player game that went on for many hours, but he also invested money out of his own pocket, by putting tokens on the line for the winner and a random draw. When he found out that the winner of his game was actually another player who was voted out in 20th, and was able to spectate the entire time, of course he was upset. It made him feel like his game was tarnished and controversial, which to an extent, it was. If you can imagine yourself in his shoes, you would empathize at why his emotions are so raw towards this incident.
Now for the final verdict. Originally, when I was first told of this incident and shown a few screenshots/chat logs along with it, I had hastily thought it was a for sure case of cheating. I encouraged Happy that his best course of action would be to void his BB36 game results and cancel the tokens. After seeing so many different opinions on this incident, and no real resolutions, I decided to put it all on my plate, and investigate further for the full story. After talking to everyone involved, and getting some outside help, I was able to fill in the missing pieces to this story, and bring everything together to draw a proper conclusion.
For those of you who were pushing for a severe punishment to Anna, that will not be happening. Before you get upset, let me explain why. The main reason people wanted Anna to be punished is because of the accusation that she was on both her account in the GY and playing on Charley at the same time throughout the duration of the game. While reviewing the games, you can clearly see Anna active in the GY, and even talking at the same time as Charley. But another piece of evidence that it was only Anna on both accounts is that people think Charley went to sleep after she let Anna on, so it had to be Anna on both. The main reason for this thought is because there's a screenshot of Charley acting confused and then saying "Oh I won" and then going on to say it was Anna. But this was over 5 hours after the game was already over, and the conversation before that made sense in context, out of context, it is more incriminating.
To prove that Charley was awake the whole time, and it was her on Anna's account in the GY, I was given chat log history of one on one conversations between Anna and Charley that showed they were actively talking to one another while Anna was playing. And for even further evidence, I was also given group chatting logs of other people who were in the Skype call with them, that attested Charley was the one in the GY and she was awake. So to end the accusation of Anna cheating by being on both accounts at the same time, it is completely false. If she had been, that would be malicious intent to cheat which would be followed by a severe punishment like some of you want. But that is not the case, so that will not be happening.
Concluding, I would like to address one more matter at hand. There is still an incident of cheating involved, however this was much more unintentional, and derives completely from lack of communication between host and player. As we all know, having access to the GY and being able to see everyone's whispers reveals a lot of information that could basically ruin everyone's game if outed. Since Anna was in the GY for a long period of time before she went on Charley's account to play, she was able to see whispers. A player getting to re-enter the game after being in the GY is an extremely unfair advantage. Although, some host do make twist that involve things of that sort. But the fact of the matter is, Happy did not allow this, and it was his game. Survivor lobby rules mainly run off host discretion. Anna and Charley not communicating to Happy that Charley no longer wanted to play and that Anna was replacing her, created an unintentional cheating/sneaky vibe that rubbed Happy and others the wrong way. Did Anna intend to cheat or get ahead of the system? Absolutely not. In her mind, she was not thinking of the unfairness of the situation, or that it would be against the rules. Instead, she just wanted to play and figured it wouldn't harm anyone if Charley didn't want to play, that she could continue for her.
So the bottom line here is that if you as a player are out of the game, YOU STAY OUT of the game. If you have ANY questions about anything regarding the game, you must ask your host. The host has ALL of the power in his or her respective game. There is absolutely NO GY leaking allowed in games. And I hope you all can understand why it is extremely frowned upon to re-enter the game after being in the GY. I've already discussed this in-depth with Anna, and she now understands why what she did would be against the rules, but at the time, she was not thinking of it in an unfair advantage perspective. This being said, from here on out, EVERYONE in the survivor lobby will be held accountable to uphold these rules, as the next time a case like this happens, there will be severe punishments.
One final note, I'd like to address the tension between Happy (and friends) and Anna (and friends). I understand why you all feel so strongly about your opinions on this. But I ask now after you've read this entire post, you come to realize that there is two sides to every story. It is ok for you to believe what you want. But you have to understand that each party in this situation both have good reasons to believe their right and to feel how they feel about it. So please, at the very least, please stop fighting. If you do not like one another, then simply avoid each other. Do not make passive aggressive comments towards the other in a thread or game. Just completely steer clear from each other. It is as simple as that.
I thank you all for reading, and I hope we as a community, can move on from this to improve and better ourselves. :)
