I haven't played competitive in a long time(3 years ago on my old main Haxis), but, now that I decided to play competitive, competitive has changed. In the old days, people use to genuinely just hold a conversation and circle jerk, then the moment someone pretends to be playing seriously, we would kill them. This is how competitive use to be.
Now, everyone is serious in competitive, but, not in a good way. There is a code system players are using. Maple for example has a code system he uses where he misspells words in sentences he intentionally says even if they don't make sense, just to relay information to his friends. The way it works is very simple.
Lets say you seperate players by a system with numbers. The player with a name that first comes in the alphabet or numbers in the name will be number 1. The player with the name that last comes in the alphabet will be the last number in the number of players there are in the game. For example.
We have a game with players named Redbamboo, Haxis, Oldman, Classygent, Sociopath, LastProphet, ToxicPlayer, and Terumi. Classygent would be 1 because his name comes first in an alphabet code for categorizing names. ToxicPlayer comes last and would be number 8.
ToxicPlayer 8, Terumi 7, Sociopath 6, Redbamboo 5, Oldman 4, LastProphet 3, Haxis 2, ClassyGent 1.
Lets say I want to make mafia 2, templar 3, and village 1, depending on the setup. I want to say a specific player is my mafia partner so my friend can get a trophy. My names ClassyGent and I want Haxis to win and RedBamboo is my partner, so I would say a sentence and in the sentence, I would add the number code like so.
Yea I kind1 of fo2s ToxicPlaye2r but im not sure2 yet.
The first 1 is ClassyGent who I just outted as mafia to my friend who knows my code and the first 2 is mafia. The second set of 2's mean I'm mafia. This is too obvious and you would catch someone doing this, which is why Maple doesn't use this exact method with numbers. Instead, maple uses it with letters. He will pick specific words to misspell on purpose and do so with random lettings that are close to the letter he will misspell. The problem is that he ends up using a sentence at the beginning of every game day one, which doesn't make sense and seems kind of like a filler comment. It's actually him giving away his partner.

This is a game where a player legit says not to kill his friend as mafia. He instantly tries to get me lynched the next day even though we were winning, because I had him kill his friend. The next game shows that the player holds a metagrudge against me, which I see no problem with as the karma mechanic exist in the game for a reason. Let them hold a grudge against me, but, just know that the grudge is because I called them cheaters when they are cheating. In fact, the second game shows that when I vote his friend even if they are mafia, he will vote me even if he knows it.
This is the new competitive lobby. It isn't a competition to see who can win the best, but, it's a competition to see who can cheat the best. K thanks.
