Sometimes it's nice to give a proper shoutout to mentors who actually make you a better player. This guy has made me more confident in my gameplay and provides excellent advice. He actually gives a damn and takes the time to monitor your games. I can see why he's a mod as well. So thanks to all the mentors who actually train their mentees and screw all of the ones who have like ten mentees and have yet to send them an introductory message. X)

I remember giving competitive games a shot the moment I hit 1500 points. They made me more lost than ever, but it was only a few games in when I met the man who would teach me everything I needed to know. The setup was O2R. The man was Calvin.

Calvin had a special place in his heart for new players. He actively scouted the user base for potential. I didn't know what I was getting in to, but Calvin would end up giving me the knowledge and experience necessary to win my first gold trophy one round later. He went on to help me become a moderator, and through his friendship I became an active member of the Epicmafia community. He never let me doubt myself. He never gave me the opportunity for failure.

Calvin, you were the best mentor a man could have. I can only hope that I'm able to pass an iota of your attitude, knowledge or wisdom onto my mentees. Thank you.
