So we all know the mods are corrupt af right? Yeah. So what we should do is this. We should take a weekend, suspend whatever round we in or just don't start a new one. De-mod every single moderator. And then pick a whole new set based on the community voting. Like make it so everybody can only vote once and then the top X players become the new mods. However many you want the site to have.
I suggest that I be made admin as I fulfill all requirements: (a) no one knows me, (b) those who do don't like me, (c) I think I'm fantastic at this game but I'm probably not.
The one thing that is missing is support of the main Admin, the owner. From what I can tell, disrespect of the mods and the site have been allowed from the beginning. 3 people have told me of times where the owner overruled things and went against the mod team, which i think created a lack of regard for mods in general. Frankly this site is ruined because it would be hard to get it to any respectable standards where people behave like respectable human beings. I am certain that most of the people that cause the most problems do not act like they do in real life. Back to the mod issue-unless a full reworking of how the site works and the willingness to lose part of the community to rebuild happens, this is how it will be. The only other option is to make this a pay to play site where you can hire mods that are paid to do their job and are not players in the community. None of that will happen.
If there's consistently discontent with the mod team mabye, just mabye it's something wrong in the selection process rather than the community. Just my 2 cents.
Like that will work. It will be a popularity contest at best, not for the people best qualified. There needs to be a mixture of people that are on the forums a lot, not on the forums a lot (thus not as well known) and frequent a range of lobbies. I really think the popularity vote is not the best way. I mean look at the US Presidential Campaign. God save the Queen.
Current mods are 'selected' by other mods and admins based mostly on their popularity in their friend group. competency is ignored. I'm glad to hear you are also against the current system.
But with elections you would get a 'mixed' mod team, that are not a friend group. So that they cannot abuse mod/admin power since they would control and see each other's actions.
This is not true in the slightest. When I was modded I wasn't in any friend group of anyone on the mod team. I knew no-one personally on the current mod team. So this is kinda false.
