Another thing that makes it more whiplash-y is the fact that like all parties are in the episodes. Where usually you would go a few episodes without seeing some of the more popular characters. But now that everyone is basically interacting with each other it's harder to avoid. Also anyone else find ser davos traveling outrageously fast more humorous than anything else. That dude speedy.
I really am enjoying this season so far but man I wish it was 10 episodes, everything being padded out makes it much more enjoyable then this fast travel shenanigans.
Even if a season is padded out or a bit lackluster in some episodes there is a huge payout at the end of a season, I know next week will be enjoyable but having more detail/storylines is what made game of thrones for me, now it's like the Flintstones meets the Jetsons type of crossover for me, a bit too out of place
Okay but serious question, why don't they just take the eagles to mount doom?

That's why they didn't make a pit stop, Winterfell (star) is super far from Eastwatch. Makes more sense to just sail straight from Dragonstone (bottom arrow) to Eastwatch (top arrow)
oh for sure. Compared to the other seasons where traveling takes more than half the season. But next season is the last season so they basically don't have a choice but to rush it.
good bits: - jon n drogon are buds - gilly discovering r+l=j - gendry, everything involving gendry - tyrion: "do you think i wanted to be born this way?" - *everyone looks at davos*
bad bits: - deus ex littlefinger - nothing involving brienne, theon, grey worm/casterly rock?? - capturing a wight and meeting cersei seems like a real bad idea (but if anyone can do it's those dudes) - no tyrion/bronn scene, especially after they were just on opposite sides of a dragon attack...surrounded by dragon skulls....boooo
don't worry though this show's about to jump the shark way harder than it has been

they had littlefinger smirking to himself partially hidden behind a corner like an old-timey silent movie schemer; all it would have taken was arya glancing briefly in the opposite direction to see him

I liked the episode. The season is just really rushed though which bothers me a bit
im just laughing because ffing Gilly was telling Sam about Rhaegar and Lyanna's secret marriage AND NEITHER OF THEM KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS aND SAM JUST COMPLAINS ABOUT WORK TFFFFF
This episode was a huge satisfaction for the fans. An unexpected burst of awesomeness and it shows a trailer of the answer we don't want. It shows us that many of our beloved characters will be against each other and will weep for each other.
