Setup Feedback

over 8 years

How is https://epicmafia.com/setup/1045611 a bad setup?

I've explained how it's a pure scumhunt setup, is not RNG swingy at all, punishes the current meta of selfing for clears and/or bad isp mafia play, and is a dawn start setup.

Bad mod slowbro decomps it and decides comping one of my town pt farms is better.

Can the mods at least explain why they think it's a swingy setup? I know it won't get recomped anymore but showing me how it's swingy would be good feedback.

Claiming PR is unoptimal and leads to a 30% loss d1. How is that swingy, when the setup was designed to ensure that claiming PR d1 is unoptimal and would lead to more mafia wins?

How are we supposed to get legitimate stats on setups when mods remove anything remotely new?

Good setup?

This setup is good, I don't know why Slowbro thinks otherwise.

That doesn't mean he should be demodded.

Yeah, I was aiming for at least 40+ plays this round, and I played 2 yesterday and I believe the setups are playable lol,

I just don't have time currently cus of uni to host 10 everyday lol

Point is, the only way to get setup feedback/results is to play the setups and Slowbro decomping the other one because he thought it was too swingy is dumb

I'd argue that your goal should be to get them played a lot, instead of the contrary. You won't be able to properly test them or get significant stats out of them if no one wants to play it.

rutab, my aim isn't to make setups the most played, I want the setups I make comped to be able to test them properly and get significant stats out of them.

The deputy setup being uncomped because one mod thinks it's 'too swingy' is mod abuse. How else are we supposed to test setups? Red hearts don't count as no one takes them seriously anyway.

Saying it's mod abuse is a bit of a stretch I believe

I know, objectively speaking, the one comped is much worse mathematically as ideal setups should be mafia-sided.

Claiming that the Deputy setup is 'swingy' when I've explained and justified every possible situation that happens on it is mod abuse.

There's a reason it has been played only 8 times this round

How is my other setup that's comped (which is essentially a town ptfarm given how most people suck as mafia) somehow better than the setup I posted?

It's not, that one is bad too.

In theory the Bleeder setup should be close to 50-50 because para can lock on LYLO and shooting gramps turns the game into MYLO+1 for the rest of the game, but has turned into a town sided setup because no one can actually towntell as mafia.

Dep shooting bomb -> 5 way LYLO no reads
Dep shooting BS -> 6 way MYLO with must lynch
Dep shooting mafia -> MYLO +1 for the rest of the game

BS claiming -> hooker hookills
Dep claiming -> Strongman strongarms

PR claiming is extremely unoptimal and the gun is only ever there to give deputy a fallback should they be unable to convince town to lynch their foss without claiming (which really speaks for the dep's skill as a player as not being able to convince town to lynch who you fos and trying to shoot is extremely unoptimal for town).

If dep saves gun (as he should), it's on mafia to actively towntell and not get lynched (or buss unnecessarily) as ninja lynched d1 gives town (essentially) 3 MLs while remaining mafia has to PR hunt perfectly.

It deserves 50 plays imo, but I'd wager Slow's right.
