A troll quitting an internet message board and/or game by faking his own suicide is one of the most tired pranks on the internet. I'm sure he also used a plethora of sock puppet accounts to gather doxxing info on other board members. In fact, I'd bet a lot of money that one of his socks was/is a board moderator.
